Full Software List:
There has been a demand for some time for a full list of software (like the old website) ever since the website was redesigned last year. You can now view a full list of software at http://www.oit.duke.edu/comp-print/software/software_list.php. This list can also be accessed from the left-hand navigation of the main software website. This list includes a link to each individual page in the web application as well as a list of products included in the license when applicable. For example, all of the MATLAB toolboxes are listed.
Reorganization:
Many of you surely noticed some of the minor changes to the application already, but in case you haven’t, we have reorganized some things on the website in an effort to make things more accessible.
- The software categories have been broadened and narrowed to six (from 11) in an effort to make searching for software easier. The default setting is still “All” if you want to search through all software offered.
- Microsoft Forefront AV products have been added to the list of downloadable software. These products are included with the Microsoft campus agreement. These are not desktop AV products, but rather are server products that connect to SCCM where clients can be pushed out.
- Forefront Protection Suite 2010 (includes the following)
- Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server
- Forefront Online Protection for Exchange
- Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010
- Forefront Threat Management Gateway Web Protection Service
- Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint
- Forefront Unified Application Gateway (includes the following)
- Unified Access Gateway (UAG) Server 2010
- Forefront Protection Suite 2010 (includes the following)
- Since 100% of the requests for Microsoft & Windows server did not indicate the version requested, the Windows & Microsoft Server page has been divided up into separate pages for each product family. Originally, all servers were on the same request page. All products still require approval, and distribution will be handled in the same manner as before. These pages are:
- Windows Server 2008 (R2, non-R2, 32 & 64-bit; Standard, Enterprise & Datacenter)
- Windows Server 2003 (R2, 32 & 64-bit; Standard & Enterprise)
- Windows Web Server 2008
- Exchange Server 2010 (Standard & Enterprise; 2007 also available by special request)
- SharePoint Server 2010 (Standard & Enterprise; 2007 also available by special request)
- System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R3
- System Center Client Management Suite 2010
- McAfee products other than the desktop AV have been relabeled “McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator & Administrative Products” Initially, these products were classified under “McAfee Administrator Products” and include ePO, VS for Unix/Linux, etc. The process is still the same to get these. Duke Faculty & Staff will need to download directly from McAfee and use the grant number to log in. The grant number and list of products as well as instructions to contact platinum & gold support are now listed in a .pdf rather than a text file.
- F-Secure for Mac has been removed from the Software license download page because it is obsolete and no longer supported by the vendor or functional on any OS X operating system.
