About Us

SIAM (Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics) is the leading international organization for professional research in applied mathematics. The Duke SIAM student chapter was established in January 2017 and is a group for students, postdocs, faculty and staff interested in applied mathematics. Our goal is to foster an active interdisciplinary STEM community at Duke by organizing professional, academic, and social events for members. SIAM offers a free student membership to Duke students. Benefits include a 30% off discount to all SIAM books. The chapter is also open to undergraduates. Click here to subscribe to the SIAM Duke student chapter mailing list.
