Duke DPT Information Sessions

Here is a list of dates during which Duke DPT will be hosting information sessions for prospective students.  This is a great opportunity to see what Duke’s physical therapy program is looking for in an applicant and to check out their facilities!

Friday, April 29th from 1:00-3:00pm

Friday, June 10th from 1:00-3:00pm

Thursday, September 15th from 6:00-8:00pm

All sessions will be held in the Technology Classroom, which is in Erwin Square above Baba Ghannouj. The address for the building is 2200 W Main Street, Suite B-230.

Upcoming Events!

Duke Pre-PT has organized a bunch of events for the coming semester. Here are a few happening in the next few weeks!

1. Seating and Mobility Clinic @ Campbell University

Saturday, January 30, 8AM-4PM

This is a hands-on learning experience with equipment available from representatives like Permobile and Sunrise.  There will be PTs and OTs leading sessions on seating and mobility that include: writing letters of medical necessity, measuring seats and backs, benefits of custom sitting, documentation, coding, and much more.

Cost: $25 — BUT if we have 10 students attending we can lower the cost to $15

2. Duke DPT Students Meeting

Tuesday, February 9, 7PM – BioSci 155

Current Duke DPT Students will be coming in to speak about their experiences during college, the application process, life as a PT student, and much more!  The students will also be going through some of their material that they are going to be using in a community outreach program.  This is  a great opportunity to hear from students who were in our shoes not too long ago!

3. Special Olympics Unified Duke-UNC Basketball Game

Saturday, March 5, 8-11AM – Brodie Gym Lower Basketball Courts

This is an awesome event hosted by the Special Olympics chapters of both Duke and UNC.  The game airs on ESPN during the Duke-UNC game coverage, and you get a free t-shirt!  Even if you are planning on tenting, they are working on a way to get tenters to be able to volunteer.  Click on the link below to sign-up!  For more details, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Duke Sports Medicine Running Clinic

Duke Physical Therapy will be hosting a running clinic on January 23th from 9:30am-12:00pm on the Center for Living Campus.  Please see the flyer below for more details. We hope you will join us, but if not, feel free to pass along the information to your fellow runners and friends!  The clinic will be presented by Ashley Davis Lake, PT and Julie Reo, PT.
