| High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) and the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) Rapid Access | Continuous | HFIR and SNS, two of the world’s most advanced neutron scattering research facilities, offer thirty instruments covering a wide range of science and capabilities. Rapid Access proposals grant beam time to potential high-impact science outside of the periodic proposal calls. | CNMS Rapid Access User Proposal | Continuous | The CNMS nanoscience research program provides users with access to a broad range of capabilities for nanomaterials design, synthesis, characterization, and theory/modeling/simulation and access is provided at no cost to users for research that is in the public domain and intended for publication in the open literature. The CNMS accepts Rapid Access user proposals for expedited peer review that request support for time-sensitive studies. Projects typically last no more than 5 days.
