Dr. Amy Bryant: I’ve definitely seen some changes in people’s decision-making since Roe. I would say surprisingly– I mean, something in retrospect maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised about, but I was– is that we’ve just had a lot more people come to us wanting sterilization procedures. Because they are worried that if they get pregnant, and they know they don’t want to, that they are not going to have any options. And I think that’s this sort of strange unintended consequence of it. It’s an interesting thought, you know, to think that that’s how people are getting around this. They’re subverting that whole idea by wanting to get sterilized, you know? So, “You’re going to take away my right to have control over my own body, I’m going to take away my ability to be fertile, so you can’t keep me from getting an abortion.” I mean, it’s kind of insane, right? But I think that’s something that is definitely happening. And even people in relationships that couldn’t get pregnant. So same-sex relationships, or their partners had a vasectomy. People still want this. Because they’re worried about getting assaulted and not having the ability to make their own decisions about these things. So that’s one thing I’ve seen.
