Dr. Beverly Gray: If someone has to come in multiple times for a visit in person and they’re traveling from rural North Carolina to Durham it’s just impossible and I think, hopefully, we’ll create a system for them to be able to do their in person state mandated counseling, their ultrasound, we’ll try to hold the hoops down as low as we can, but there’s still hoops they’ll have to jump through. People have kids and jobs and other things, and it’s really hard. It’s really hard to go to one appointment. It’s sometimes very hard to track our patients down to do the counseling over the phone because they’re at work or they’re in school or whatever. It’s unnecessary so it feels insensitive.
