Dr. Tricia Seal: One of my colleagues, she’s a pediatric and adolescent gynecologist. And so lately she has not been doing any abortion care, just because our exceptions are so narrow. But prior to our law being active, she was the one doing all the forensic pediatric terminations. So those were like your 11, 12, 13-year-olds who are pregnant. Rape and incest cases, working closely with law enforcement when they needed genetic material for convictions and things. And she spoke to the legislature, I think two years ago when we had our first ban go through. And then was incredibly—felt dismissed almost. When all of that research and information and context was just, “Well that’s great, we don’t care. Your expertise is not really expertise to us. It’s just annoying banter.”
