Shaun has stepped in and up the past five weeks while we have had two lab employees out on leave. We have a staff of five, so losing two for an eight-week period has really put a strain on our team. With the students starting in the Gross Anatomy Lab and us having multiple educational labs in the Fresh Tissue Lab, we have been stretched thin. Add to that all the donors we were blessed to receive in August, and that means Shaun has been working in excess of 50 hours/week. The skills he possesses are so specialized that there is nobody who can step in to do his job. The team has supported him, but Shaun is having to do the heavy lifting of coordinating all the labs in this period. It’s no exaggeration to say we would have had to shut the lab down without him for two months. I’m proud to recognize Shaun for stepping up and making our team shine during a tough time!
