Patricia and I do not work together, to be honest I only overheard a conversation she was having about a patient because we were sitting near each other. I felt moved by how she spoke of her patient with respect and shared with her colleague about the challenges Hispanic patients deal with receiving care. Especially with it being Hispanic Heritage month, and having immigrant parents, I would like to give her a shout out. She spent extra time with the patient and interpreter to really get to know him and mentioned listening to patients’ border crossing stories and other difficult situations they faced. It makes me proud to know I work with people who respect patients no matter where they come from and can empathize with them. Thank you for going the extra mile to care for our patients, Patricia!
