I am one of the cardiac anesthesia attendings in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Director of Perioperative Echocardiography at Duke. I have had the pleasure of working with Michael for many years. He has always been reliable, professional, and incredibly responsive to our needs, often finding solutions even when we had to improvise or stretch our resources. Michael stepped away from supporting our equipment some time ago, but recently I reached out to him—as he was still my only contact in Clinical Engineering—for help locating a piece of equipment that Philips had mistakenly shipped to the wrong location at Duke. Without hesitation, he met me in person, walked with me through several buildings, and ultimately helped me locate the equipment in the Clinical Engineering office in the tunnel—a place I never would have thought to look.
