Dawn Piercy works in the GI/Hepatology Division and she is an expert in fatty liver disease. I am one of her resource nurses. Day after day, I work with Dawn and observe the absolute commitment to excellence in nursing care. She is smart, clinically astute, and thorough, and always goes the extra mile with her patients to ensure they have the best care possible. On top of her full time work at Duke as an NP, she is finishing her DNP at DSON. She’s a nursing hero, and I wanted to take the time to recognize her.
