Sharon Wright

You’re the Best!

Nominated by Lynelle Perez
As a manager, you hear wonderful things about many of your employees, but sometimes you hear an experience that truly exemplifies the “making a difference” trademark of going above and beyond the expectations of one’s job. Last Thursday, one of our financial services counselors felt one of her surgery wounds leaking and felt she should go to the emergency room. She reports that Sharon Wright, our clinical ophthalmic medical technologist, offered to drive her. She declined Sharon’s offer as she wanted to drive herself. So Sharon followed her from our Cary office on Tryon Road all the way to the emergency room of Duke Hospital during the busiest time of the evening commute, a distance of over 25 miles in the opposite direction from where Sharon lives. And finally, Sharon did not just turn around and return home when she saw the Duke ER entrance, but she made sure her colleague got into the ER safely. Thank you, Sharon, for going “above and beyond” in “making a difference”!
