Do you feel like you’re getting the most out of your in-class experience?
You can’t write down everything the professor says. It’s not physiologically possible.
How you process and receive information impacts what will work best for you in class. Do you miss a lot of the “verbal” parts of a class (written or spoken)? Do you zone out in large lecture classes, and/or have to write everything down to stay engaged?
When you only focus on taking notes, you spend a lot more time after class “teaching” yourself the material. This is not the most efficient use of your time, and it’s frustrating and stressful!
Use in-class time to think and process. Effective engagement and note-taking strategies will help you get the most out of it.
