“Cyber, Security & Surveillance” conference videos online!

On Feb 24-25 we had Duke Law’s annual Center on Law, Ethics and National Security conference, and – wow – great speakers and great attendees (the most ever!).

With 340 registrants the conference was our largest yet.

This year’s theme was “Cyber, Security & Surveillance: Truth & Consequences,” and I’m pleased to tell you the videos of the speeches and presentations are already online and can be found here.  (Besides cyber-related discussions, we heard from senior military lawyers and had presentations on civil military relations, China, as well as ethics  – which involved the lawyer’s role in analyzing autonomous capabilities).

Mary Curtis with her husband, Dr. Will Curtis, the first recipient of the LENS Tribute Award.

At the conference dinner we presented our first ever “Tribute” award to Dr. Will Curtis, a long-time supporter of the Center who recently retired from teaching at the U.S. Naval Academy after 47 years of public service that included 21 years in the U.S. Air Force.

And our volunteers were key to our success!

Some of our hard-working volunteers!
