Summer 2022 Group Coaching Opportunities for Duke PhD Students

This opportunity is open to all Duke doctoral students across disciplines. However, since we have very limited coaching slots, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

The popular “PhD Transitions” group coaching program for Duke doctoral students will be re-launching in Fall 2022 (registration opening soon). The coaching groups will be led by three PhD-holding Duke staff members who are close to finishing their professional coach training and certification. (More information here.)

As a capstone to their training, each coach seeks to guide a small (4-person) group of PhD students this summer. The groups will meet four times over the summer, for 90 minutes each. Participants will benefit from personalized coaching (in a confidential, nonevaluative setting) to help them with whatever goal (academic, professional) they set for themselves. Common coaching topics include enhancing productivity and time management, improving relationships with advisors and other collaborators, building diverse networks of peers and mentors, and adjusting to a new phase of doctoral training (such as qualifying exams or dissertation).

Please register here, at your earliest convenience. Thanks! You may direct any questions about this opportunity to Maria Wisdom, Director of Interdisciplinary Mentoring and Coaching Programs.
