FAQs
How can I get involved with the Energy Club?
In addition to joining our first year cabinet, a great way to get involved is by helping plan Energy Week at Duke University! We’ve hosted the Duke University Energy Conference for 14 years straight, and last year’s conference drew over 350 in-person and 1,000 virtual attendees. You can get a snapshot of the 2022 conference’s events by watching the Opening Remarks, our Keynote Conversation with Chris Shelton (SVP and Chief Product Officer of AES; President AES Next), and our Fireside Chat on Investing in Climate-Tech Solutions, featuring Sophie Purdom (Climate Tech VC), Nneka Kibuule (Aligned Climate Capital), and Lisa Krueger (AES).
Fuqua also co-hosts the annual Emerging Markets Case Competition in partnership with the James E. Rogers Energy Access Project. Last year, over 100 teams from 8 different countries competed for a grand prize of $15,000!
What energy courses can I take while at Fuqua?
Fuqua features two concentrations specifically designed for energy-focused students. You can find detailed course requirements here for our Energy Finance and Energy & Environment concentrations. Fuqua students can also take up to 12 credits at other schools around the university and frequently draw upon the expertise of our colleagues at the Nicholas School of the Environment, the Duke Law School, and the Sanford School of Public Policy. A detailed list of energy-focused courses you may take at other schools around Duke is featured here.
