Mission
The Black Business Student Association (BBSA) at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business is a student-led organization committed to the advancement of Black students. We provide our members with the resources and opportunities to be successful business leaders in all sectors by focusing on professional, educational, academic, and social activities for our members.
History
In 1982, the Black and Latino MBA Organization (BLMBAO) was founded at Fuqua School of Business and was dedicated to providing its members with the resources and opportunities to be successful business leaders.
After years of dedication to fostering a community for both Black and Latinx individuals, BLMBAO was ready to make way for two new organizations that could continue fostering community for their respective members. Subsequently, in 2023, BBSA and its sister organization ALMA (American Latinx Management Association) were founded.
BBSA aims to continue honoring its predecessor and strives to create a path for Black students from all corners of the world to flourish and find community at Fuqua.
