Duke University has various resources to support the academic, personal, and professional wellbeing of all Black students. In addition to resources at Fuqua, business school students have access to organizations and departments across the University, including:
- Black Graduate and Professional Student Association: BGPSA is an organization designed to represent all minority graduate and professional students on the Duke University campus. BGPSA’s primary mission is to enhance the Duke experience for our members through community service, social, and academically-based programming events
- Department of African and African American Studies: Duke’s center for interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship on Africa and people of African descent around the world, in particular the Black Atlantic
- The Mary Lou Williams Center For Black Culture: a hub for community-building, learning, exploration, and identity development. Founded in 1983, the Center’s mission is to provide a safe and affirming space that supports the diverse needs of Black-identified people at Duke University
- The Nasher Museum of Art: Since its founding, the Nasher Museum has been dedicated to building a groundbreaking collection of contemporary art. In this effort, the museum’s collection strategy emphasizes works by diverse artists who have been historically underrepresented, or even excluded, by mainstream arts institutions, and maintains a particular focus on artists of African descent
- The Office for Institutional Equity: The Office for Institutional Equity helps advance Duke’s culture of diversity, inclusion, equality, and belonging through educational opportunities and resources.
