BBSA Professional Development
BBSA is committed to supporting Black students at Fuqua as they seek and secure roles that align their professional and personal goals and embark upon their professional journeys.
The Professional Development Cabinet, led in 2024-2025 by two second-year students–Jelani Scott and Jesse Chambers–works each year to secure financial sponsorships from companies looking to recruit Black students from Fuqua and oversees company engagement.
EVENTS
To create forums and channels through which Black students and company recruiters can meaningfully connect and learn about each other, the BBSA Professional Development Cabinet coordinates company presentations, lunch-and-learns, and networking sessions for Black students, develops a resume book to aid first-year recruiting, and supports incoming students exploring pre-MBA recruiting opportunities.
Additionally, the Cabinet hosts ad-hoc professional development workshops and organizes 5-10 events each fall with firms like Accenture, Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson, and more.
PARTNERSHIPS
BBSA also collaborates with the Business in Africa Club Career and Fuqua MBA Association Academics Cabinet to support the professional development of students from Africa in pre-MBA and fall recruiting.
