Valentina Ramirez
Undergraduate Student
Valentina was born in Colombia and raised in Madrid, Spain until the age of 13, when her family immigrated to the United States. She is currently a third year undergraduate student at Duke University majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Chemistry and Global Health, hoping to pursue MD/PhD after graduation. Valentina joined the Eroglu Lab in 2022 and works with Pia to study the role of mitochondrial dynamics in astrocyte morphogenesis and development. Her project focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of Drp1 in astrocyte morphogenesis. Outside of the lab, Valentina enjoys working out, cooking and going on hikes.
