Ryan Baumert, PhD
Postdoctoral Associate
Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from New York University, where he studied the transcriptional elements that generate neuronal diversity. He then went on to pursue his doctoral training in the lab of Dr. Pierre McCrea at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he discovered the roles of novel molecular switches in hippocampal neuron development. Ryan joined the Eroglu Lab as a postdoctoral researcher in 2021 and is investigating the molecular mechanisms that underlie synapse development and proteostasis. In his free time, Ryan enjoys exploring outdoors, longboarding, and spending time with his pets and family.
