Born on Guam and raised in the DMV area, Jasmine earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Case Western Reserve University in 2025. That same year, she completed her Master’s degree in Bioethics, concentrating in health policy and research ethics. During her time at CWRU, she worked as a research assistant in the Xiong Lab, where she investigated the role of lipoprotein receptor-related protein 4 (LRP4) astrocytes in amyloid β-protein metabolism and its implications for Alzheimer’s disease. She also studied how VPS35 affects astrocyte and blood vessel development in relation to blood-brain barrier dysfunction and neurodegenerative disease. Shortly after graduating, Jasmine joined the Eroglu Lab as a research technician, where she explores how astrocyte dysfunction contributes to Parkinson’s disease under the mentorship of graduate student Nick Brose and Dr. Nimrod Elazar. Outside the lab, Jasmine enjoys baking, traveling, and spoiling her bunnies.
