Monica Arniella Named First Author on First Publication
Senior University Scholar Monica Arniella, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology, has just had on her first publication – and as 1st author, too! The article, “Unmapped sequencing reads identify additional candidate genes linked to magnetoreception in rainbow trout” appears in the January 20th 2018 edition of Environmental Biology of Fishes. The research builds off work that Monica began in her junior year with postdoctoral researcher Robert Fitak and Duke professor Sönke Johnsen, which she presented at the 2017 USP “Relativity” symposium.
