The Child and Infant Learning and Development (CHILD) Studies Group at Duke is a group of five research labs discovering fascinating things about how children grow and learn!
Our Mission
We’re a team of scientists who are curious about how children grow, think, and see the world. We believe kids are insightful, capable, and full of ideas worth studying. Through fun, research-based activities, we work with families to better understand child development. We also support college students who want to learn how to do research and give back to the community. Our goal is to learn as much as we can about how children develop and to make sure that knowledge includes and represents all children.
Our Vision
To empower communities with insights into child development, so that every child, regardless of background, can explore, learn, and grow in a world that understands and supports them. We envision a future where developmental science is accessible, inclusive, and shaped in partnership with the families it serves.
