Interested in research that bridges data, international development, and human experience? Join a Bass Connections project focused on the long-term effects of armed conflict on intimate partner violence (IPV) in Peru during the 2026-27 academic year. This project will bring together an interdisciplinary team of students, faculty and researcher partners to explore how histories of violence shape lives today.

Bass Connections project teams offer opportunities to build research skills, deepen your understanding of complex societal challenges, and connect classroom learning with real-world questions. Through this project, you’ll work alongside peers from diverse disciplines in a supportive, team-based environment and contribute to ongoing, collaborative research. You’ll engage with rich data sources and help translate research findings into written and visual outputs for broader audiences.

Students with backgrounds in economics, public policy, global health, political science, sociology, computer sciences or statistical sciences may find this project especially relevant, but interested undergraduate and graduate students from all majors are encouraged to apply. We’re seeking curious, self-motivated team players who are eager to engage with interdisciplinary research. Spanish language skills and/or regional experience are helpful but not required.

More information is available on our Bass Connections project site. Apply here by February 9th!
