Protocols
New to collision surveys? Read through this volunteer guide, which is your in-depth guide to all things Duke Bird-window Collision Monitoring. Then, watch this video for an example of what the protocol for carcass sampling looks like.
When you conduct your survey, you will be given a binder with a copy of the protocol, maps, and bags with labels. For a more detailed protocol, see the volunteer guide above.
Buildings & Routes
These are 11 buildings that are part of this survey. Find their names and assigned codes below. Please use the assigned code for all data entry.
The buildings are split into four separate routes depending on their location on campus.
- North: Fitzpatrick, Wilkinson, Perkins/The Perk
- South: Athletic Center, Duke Law Building
- East: Broadhead Center, Penn Pavilion, Duke Health Center
- West: French Family Science Center, Biological Sciences, Grainger Hall, Design Pod
At each building, we have identified common collision areas, which you will see highlighted in a yellow star, and provided a recommended walking route.
