Duke scientists gave a workshop for high school biology and chemistry teachers on the biology & chemistry of alcohol. Teachers participated in the workshop as part of the Alcohol Pharmacology Education Partnership (APEP). This video (Part 1) contains the background biology and chemistry content for APEP Module 4 devoted to the breathalyzer. In addition, it includes a student activity to build a breathalyzer and learn how it works.
