Developing New Bio- and Chemocatalytic Reactions
We use organic chemistry as a foundation to reimagine what enzymes can do, developing catalysts for new-to-nature transformations through protein engineering, enzymology, and data science. In parallel, we develop chemocatalytic strategies to harness highly reactive intermediates, converting them into controllable species that can be directed by small-molecule catalysts for productive bond construction.

We are product oriented, and aim to develop technologies for the synthesis of useful small and large molecules, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and bioconjugates. We are also interested in developing bioremediation strategies through new collaborative efforts.
