“Omne Trium Perfectum” (everything that comes in threes is perfect, or every set of three is complete)
What’s so special about the number three?
Well, Schoolhouse Rock! tells us that three is a magical number!

The “Rule of Three” is the principle that suggests that things that come in threes appear to be just right (or perhaps, wrong). It is often believed that information presented in groups of three is more reliable or easier to remember. For example:
“Friends, Romans, Countrymen…”
“Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness”
“Veni, Vidi, Vici” (I came, I saw, I conquered)
… and many more.
The number three is also a magical number in science… specifically, when it comes to validating results. My mentor often tells me that in order to verify results, experiments have to be repeated at least three times. Unfortunately, due to the time remaining to complete this program, it is quite impossible to repeat all my experiments three times, but the data I’ve obtained are, so far, in line with the hypothesis for my research.
Although six weeks have already passed, I am grateful that I have learned many techniques that will be of great use in the future. I am also very thankful for all the support and guidance from the people in my lab, especially from my mentor Genia.
