This summer has far exceeded my expectations! I was hoping to determine whether research was for me and if biomedical engineering was for me as well. Through eight weeks of intensive research I have been able to answer these questions. Though fascinating and exciting when a discovery is made, the unpredictability of research is not for me. It was incredible when one of my experiments worked, but so often with research the trials do not work. Also, though research this summer I have realized that engineering is not for me either. Science is definitely in my future, but I will not be continuing with engineering. The faculty talks helped me discover which areas of biology are my favorite so in the future I will be able to pursue those topics.
