Thus far, we are, in Oas lab, very close to the end of data collection and onto data analysis. As close as we are however, there is still a lot to do for my project and a lot of room for error and a lot of variables and procedures to account for especially as a 1st timer at research. I learned a lot from the failures and successes of myself and my group within the lab and I will continue to learn as more failures and successes come across.
Of course the greatest risk for failure is contamination and with all the different steps in sample preparation and gathering data, there are more than plenty of chances for that to occur thus you’d have to monitor each step to prevent that and even so you will not be perfect while proceeding through your experiment. Even if my data is perfect, I will still have to spend a lot of time analysing the data in which the code on the program I use for data analysis may not work or not be as efficient as possible, but I will seek out help and utilise the resources I have at my disposal in order to reduce the chances of failure in my code. I really hope for great results in the future and for my learning experience here in the lab to be optimised.
