There will be 3 special sessions as shown below.
Session 1: LIGHTNING Talks presented by FIP Faculty

Short Research Talks
Short "lightning" talks by our faculty explaining some groundbreaking research at Duke in photonics research.
This will be a video of the talks on a continuous loop in the auditorium during the LLL Day booths.

Session 2: LASERS, LENSES & LIGHT - (LLL DAY) presented by FIP & DOSC Students

Learn about Lasers, Lenses & Light!!
While the video is playing in the auditorium of the repeating loop of groundbreaking research, there will be booths, tours, and displays explaining LIGHT by our Duke Optical Student Chapter (DOSC). The students call this part of the event LLL Day. This will take place in the main atrium by the stairs on all three levels.
Come see 3d printing, laser engraving, fiber optics, lasers, microscopes, UV light, telescope, photo booth and more!!!
Session 3: Light Painting, Laser Show & Light Painting Portraits presented by FIP & Guest Light Painters
4:30 - 6:00pm

Light uses in art and photography
Several light painters will be at Duke sharing their knowledge and skills about light painting along with demonstrations. At the end of the demonstrations, there will be a laser show to conclude the day's events. At the conclusion, light painters will stay to take light painting portraits of attendees.
