Duke Team Gold is a multidisciplinary group of scientifics and policy analysts that evaluates and mitigates mercury exposure effects to transform the ASGM sector. Our team explores policy solutions related to gold mining, economic livelihoods, conservation, mercury exposure, and human health.
Duke Team Gold’s extensive work also includes assessing the socioeconomic impact of interventions in the ASGM sector, and the health and environmental effects of mercury exposure. Likewise, the development of solutions to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of gold production, mercury-free processing and mercury capture technologies, and restoration of polluted ecosystems.
