F-35 Manufacturing Test Engineering Internship
During the summer of 2023, I moved to Fort Worth, TX for a 10-week internship with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics as a Manufacturing Test Engineer for the F-35 program. I worked with the Acceptance Test Facility (ATF) team to support Radar Cross-Section testing for production F-35 aircraft, improving stealth capabilities of the 5th-generation fighter jet. During my internship, I developed a MATLAB data processing tool that streamlined ATF operations and improved radar test data. I also spent time on the flight line, conducting radar tests in the field.
This internship was an invaluable experience as I finally experienced how a real-world engineering team functions and learned countless lessons working on the world-class F-35 program. Next summer (2024), I am planning on returning to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, this time as a Flight Test Engineer with the F-35 Integrated Task Force team at the PAX Naval Air Station (Patuxent River, MD). I’ll be conducting and overseeing flight test operations for STOVL and Carrier Vehicle F-35 programs.
(Unfortunately, I can only share limited information about my projects and responsibilities due to DOD and ITAR security regulations.)
