FP 21 highlights RDP Senior Fellow, Amb. W. Robert Pearson’s call for more scientific expertise in diplomacy

In response to RDP senior fellow, Ambassador Robert Pearson’s April article in The Hill, FP 21 writes in this week’s newsletter: “fp21 agrees with Pearson that scientific knowledge is crucial for diplomacy. Science at all levels—from astrophysics to political science—is invaluable for decision-making. Without shifting State Department culture to be more scientific, American diplomacy will struggle to absorb the hard-won evidence our scientists provide. Diplomacy should not only leverage more science, it must become more scientific itself”
