Kartik Srinivasan’s research is in the field of nanophotonics, with a current focus on topics in photonic quantum information science, nonlinear optics, and metrology.
Dr. Srinivasan received his B.S., M.S, and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 2000, 2002, and 2006, respectively. His graduate research was supported by a Fannie and John Hertz Foundation Fellowship. From 2000-2001, he worked at XPonent Photonics, a startup company in southern California, and from 2006-2007 he was a postdoctoral scholar at Caltech. In 2007 he moved to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as a Project Leader, and in 2019 he became a NIST Fellow. Since 2019, he has also been a Fellow of the Joint Quantum Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society and is a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.
