Shreyas Hallur interned as a data researcher with the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services this summer. An avid believer in Medicaid and behavioral health policy, he has worked with numerous state-level Medicaid agencies in the past. This internship allowed him to both develop his data validation and model building skills and learn more about the interdependence between the federal government and state Medicaid agencies.

Awesome stuff Shreyas! Lump sum payment seems like a really interesting funding model, what are some of the reasons against its implementation?
How did working at the federal level compare with your previous experience at the state level? For instance, do processes move faster at the state level than at the federal level?
Hey Shreyas! Thanks for your presentation, it’s been a while since we’ve talked! I really appreciate you presenting your project; it sounds like you practiced this a lot! What was the hardest part of integrating between state and national agencies?
Great project, Shreyas! I really like the idea of integrating Medicaid into the CHART model as a way of addressing health inequities, especially through the lump sum payment mechanism.
