Hi Cynthia, thank you for sharing your project! I’ve tried making very simple stop motion animation videos (with just a few objects, phone, and tripod) and found the process to be unbelievably time consuming and frustrating — I can’t imagine the level of difficulty with so many moving parts. Which of Dickinson’s poems did you end up selecting for this project, and how did you decide? The concept collage spreads are beautiful and I’d love to see the final result, is there anywhere we can view the final video?
This is an extremely interesting project! From the featured examples alone, I am already very impressed with your artistic vision and how it complements your concept (which itself is so creative and unique). How did you approach creating visual art to match the themes of the poems? For example, for each line, did you focus more on depicting the literal words, the mental images created by the words, or the meaning/feelings each line evokes?
Cynthia!!
This is such a beautiful project – I especially love how you were inspired by Chinese literati. Did you see the connection between literati and Dickinson first, or were you moved by Dickinson and then found literati to be the perfect inspiration medium for your video?
Hey Cynthia!
I love that you were able to combine your diverse interests into an awesome project. Do you think you’d like to continue with stop-motion animation in similar projects?
Hi Cynthia,
This is such a cool and innovative project! I loved reading your poster, and was curious as to where we could see the final video? I really loved looking at your concept collage spreads, and seeing the variety of artistic techniques used in your project. Thank you so much for all your hard work!
