Paget’s Disease of Bone

Katlyn Hurst conducted an 8-week independent study research project virtually with Duke University. She analyzed research and conducted lab presentations to aid in the understanding of how GRK3 -/- mice can be used to understand Paget’s Disease of Bone in humans. She also helped in the writing of a review paper that will be submitted to a medical journal this fall.

  1. This is so impressive! I am so proud of you!
How do you think working on this project remotely affected the experience?
Were there any unique advantages/disadvantages that resulted from not being in person?

  2. This sounds really interesting. How did you first hear about the lab? Do you plan on continuing to do research in the medical field further and if so on what?
