Join a Duke study on how pain meds impact the brain in women with chronic pain

Researchers at Duke University are studying how pain meds impact brain activity in women with chronic pain.

We will study women who use certain pain medications using MRI scans with games, sensory tests, and surveys.

We hope to develop new, healthier, non-addictive treatments for women with chronic pain.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

  • Attend up to 2 visits at Duke University, over 1 month
  • Each study visit will include:
    • MRI scans of the brain and spine
    • Participation in sensory tests and games
    • Blood test
    • Health surveys
All study visits take place at Duke University Hospital,
2301 Erwin Rd, Durham, NC 27710

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates may be eligible to participate if they are…

  • Women 18 years of age or older
  • Have widespread chronic pain or fibromyalgia
  • Currently taking certain pain medications
