Teaching college-level mathematics is another of my passions. In addition to my mathematics coursework and research, I am also progressing toward completing Duke’s Certificate in College Teaching to systematically improve my pedagogy. This semester, I am working as a teaching assistant (TA) for one of Duke’s calculus 1 courses.
During my undergrad, I was lucky enough to have multiple teaching opportunities. The first was being a drop-in tutor at Berkeley’s Student Learning Center, and the second was working as a student instructor for two sophomore level math classes: Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, and Discrete Mathematics.

- Held the only virtual discussion sections during an in-person semester, which meant adapting in-person lessons to a virtual format and figuring out ways to foster collaboration between students over Zoom
- Successfully retained over 70% participation from my whole section in virtual group activities, despite never taking attendance
- Position required 20 hours/week
Drop-In Tutor for Student Learning Center
