Thanks for coming to MASMC and Duke University

MASMC2015 superspeaker will be Dr. Cathy Cripps of Montana State University

This year’s MASMC2015 superspeaker was Dr. Cathy Cripps of Montana State University

Thanks to everyone who came this year, especially those who presented papers and posters.  This year’s meetings, like all the others before, was just right.  Low key, and very informative.  It was a pleasure to have everyone together, made even better by excellent weather.   Over 60 participants attended this year’s event hosted by your friends at Duke University, Durham NC on April 10-12, 2015.   In case you were not here, here’s a copy of this year’s MASMC 2015 Program and Abstract Book.

Special thank you to our MASMC superspeaker, Dr. Cathy Cripps of Montana State University who presented a great after dinner talk entitled “Rocky Mountain Highs and Arctic Lows: Diversity, ecology, and systematics of ectomycorrhizal fungi above and beyond treeline”.
Reminder, next year’s MASMC 2016 wlll take place at Penn State University, with Prof. Dave Geiser as our host.  Keep a lookout for updates, you won’t want to miss it!

This was the 36th meeting of the Middle Atlantic States Mycology Conference (MASMC) MASMC2015.  The first MASMC Conference took place in 1979 with participating mycology labs from Virginia Tech, Univ. Maryland, Howard University and Towson State University.  Each spring, MASMC mycologists from the eastern seaboard present their latest research findings, share a meal, memories and meet new friends. The meetings are low key, providing students and postdocs the opportunity to present their research findings in a less formal venue than those stuffy national and international meetings.
