More info for Volunteers

Who: We need Duke students, faculty, and staff to help us run fun science demo stations and lab tours. You will have to complete the standard Minor’s Training and background check before LLL Day. We will also have plenty of free food for our volunteers.

What: With demos, you will help local students and their families learn about optics, photonics, etc. Demos will be designed for middle school-aged students, but they are welcome for K-12 graders and their families/guardians. Do you have ideas for a fun demo? Please get in touch with Marcia dos Santos (marcia.santos@duke.edu), and we will help you bring it to LLL Day.

When: Saturday, April 5th, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Volunteers should plan to be there from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: We have the entire FCIEMAS Atrium reserved for the day.

Why: As Duke engineers and scientists, it is our responsibility to share our knowledge and enthusiasm with the next generation, especially in our local Durham community.
