Of every ISS course I’ve taken, ISS 240 was one of my favorites. Throughout the course we built webpages, learning HTML and CSS, even touching upon JavaScript. I enjoyed the structure of the class, attending small labs where we built mini webpages each week. I learned about the history of multimedia technology, the beginning of email, and the future including virtual reality technologies. The course helped me develop a sense of web design, as well as an appreciation for impressive web pages.
At the time I took this course, I believed I wanted to get a job in web design, graphic design, or user experience. In order to get a job in this field, I needed to gain experience through projects and an internship. For Assignment #4 (design your own webpage idea), I decided to build a portfolio website to showcase my previous work. I have included screen capture’s of the final result below:

The About page gave a brief description about myself, my interests, and my skills. It included collapsable horizontal rows. The rows expanded to show more information, seen in the image below.

In the “Work” button of the header menu, one can find a “Design” section and a “Code” section. These are both clickable.

The “Design” section leads to a page with my previous graphic designs on display.

Overall, I was happy with the way my final project for this class turned out. I learned a lot in this course that helped my in my future classes. HTML and CSS are important skills to have for anyone seeking a job in technology.
