Funding for PhD Students in AI; Apply by Feb. 21

By: John Zhu

The Duke Office of Global Affairs heard from its partners at the University of Warwick that they have an opportunity to support research collaboration and fully fund Ph.D. students in a program on AI (from all disciplines) at Warwick.

In addition to the extensive expertise in allied fields at Warwick, working with the University will facilitate access to experts at the Alan Turing Institute in London – the UK’s national centre of excellence for data science and artificial intelligence, of which Warwick was a founding partner.

Applications should be made by the student, mentioning the name of the proposed supervisor from Duke.

The Feuer International Scholarships in Artificial Intelligence are prestigious and highly competitive.

Aimed at attracting outstanding students from the world’s best universities, the fully funded PhD scholarships support talented people with potentially world-changing ideas in Trustworthy AI from across all academic disciplines.

Applicants are asked to submit a short Expression of Interest (EoI) which will enable us to either recommend that they submit a full PhD application or advise that they are not suitable candidates based on our rigorous selection criteria. I’m delighted to share the news that given the significant existing collaboration between Warwick and Duke and the quality of our academic training and research excellence, any students applying from our institution who are on target to attain a GPA of 3.7 or above, are guaranteed to receive feedback on their Expression of Interest and will be invited to submit a full PhD scholarship application.

Further information can be found on the Warwick webpages, noting the upcoming deadline of 21February for the EoI stage: https://warwick.ac.uk/global/partnerships/mwa/education/education-projects/feuer/
