Application Opening August 2021
College seniors, first-year graduate students, and students in a gap year preparing to pursue PhD programs in the applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, or engineering (including MD/PhD programs) are eligible to apply for this five year fellowship. Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Valued at up to $250,000, the Hertz Fellowship supports the pursuit of innovative projects and studies toward understanding and solving major, near-term problems facing society. Fellows also take part in mentoring, symposia, and workshops with the Hertz Fellows community.
