The Office of Campus Research Development is teaming up with the Energy Initiative to offer an info session on Tuesday, 8/25 (12-1 p.m. EDT) about the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program. The program provides funding to supplement a STEM PhD student’s thesis research through collaboration with a DOE national laboratory. The info session is open to all STEM doctoral students as well as faculty mentors. RSVP for Zoom link: bit.ly/DOEAug25.
MORE INFO
Why should STEM doctoral students apply for the SCGSR Program?
This is a great opportunity for students to enhance their thesis/dissertation research by taking advantage of the significant resources of a DOE national lab. The research funding provides a stipend and travel expenses to enable this. The opportunity is open to all eligible graduate students—there need not be a pre-existing collaboration between the faculty mentor and a DOE lab scientist.
What can I expect at the info session?
Sohini Sengupta (Office of Campus Research Development) and Eric Rohlfing (Energy Initiative, formerly of DOE) will discuss the details of the SCGSR program in preparation for the next application deadline in November 2020. RSVP now.
