Micah Sahakian

My name is Micah Sahakian, and I hail from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I come from a family with two younger brothers who mean the world to me. My family originally comes from Beirut, Lebanon, making me a first-generation American. Over the past four years, I completed my undergraduate degree at Cornell University, where I majored in biology and minored in business. While at Cornell, I also played football, which I will continue to do here at Duke. Besides school and athletics, I greatly enjoy investing in my faith, playing the saxophone and piano, and collecting shoes. Through this GLS journey, I am greatly looking forward to broadening my horizons and learning from those around me.

    Preferred Name: Micah

What movie or television show that you watched recently would you recommend to the rest of us? Interstellar

Coming to the Duke GLS program, I hope to learn what it means to think holistically while experiencing a variety of different subjects within classes.

We’re going to make a GLS 2024 playlist on Spotify. Please recommend a song to include that speaks to how YOU feel as you embark on this new learning journey. It could be something that you’re listening to a lot now or a longtime favorite that captures the moment for you.
