What you Hear: The noises of the outdoors are clear here, can hear the trees rustling and some bird chirps in the background. There is a Duke campus bus driving along the main chapel drive in the distant background, some construction and my footsteps as I walk along the drive.

What you see: It is a sunny afternoon, there are some woods to the left, by Edens, and to the right under the tunnel is Duke Gardens. In front is McClendon Tower, where Pitchforks and the COVID testing site I got tested at is located. There are no other people present in this picture, nor around me at that time.

What is captured: The tranquility of a quiet Duke campus, only the essential background services are running, such as the campus bus, and some construction

What is absent: The life of the campus is missing. It was a sunny Friday afternoon, at Pitchforks, one of the most favorite food spots on campus, and usually you would see crowds of students sitting outside with their friends having a nice meal to end their week. I also usually see more staff and vehicles lined up along this drive, but there was a noticeable decline in their presence this day. Looking back to my experiences in this area before COVID, there is a night and day difference in this environment.
