A gallery with photos submitted from the Football Team and their favorite meals from the Washington Duke
Living in the Washington Duke during the 2020 through 2021 school year was a privilege that was granted to athletes and a select few of students. The hotel provided amazing services and accommodations for their guests. they provided a place where we could get five star meals on food points, every room came with a nice bed and a TVs, and for many people including myself we got the opportunity to golf and relax once in a while. The Duke football team consists of 100 players. In a normal season it can be hard to get to know every player. You might think that living together at the Washington Duke during Covid we would have gotten to know each other better.
I conducted an experiment with my teammates to see if this was the case. In the video above you will see a Name That Player zoom jeopardy game. Unfortunately, as you will see in the video being sectioned off in the Washington Duke hurt rather than helped the overall goal of everyone getting to know each other and building a bond that could have helped make going through a pandemic even better. Even though it wasn’t perfect, there were some great moments that occurred in the Washington Duke that will last for a lifetime . Bonds and friendships were created between Hotel staff and students, students and regular guests, and every day was a reminder that nobody was going through the pandemic alone.
Even though it was a stressful year hanging with each other on a daily basis made it so much better. Here’s a Tik Tok that was made in the summer that went viral.
